Prayer for Vacation |
|
Gracious God, give me a heart
of playfulness while I am away from the
regular responsibilities of my life. Give me
a spirit of adventure…a spirit that is
ready to try new things, taste new food,
experience new people.

Using Music to Hear the Holy |
|
It can be difficult to experience the spiritual power of
music when we are too guarded, too proper, too
controlled. We need to be unconcerned about what
others may think in order to give ourselves fully to the
music.

Questions of Faith and Doubt |
|
What if
I'm not certain what I believe?
The whole enterprise of faith involves
"turning things over to God" rather than
being certain on our own.

Our Need for Diversity |
|
There is something stimulated when you find
yourself among strangers, without title or
standing, listening to ideas and thoughts
that come from a different and challenging
perspective.
We need one another in
all
of our diversity.
That's a lesson we get from Jesus who crossed
all kinds of religious and cultural barriers
to interact with those who were different
from him and different from each other.

True Religion
When you think about the world from God's
perspective, you begin to realize that we are
all minorities. Two-thirds of the world are
not Christian, and there are more Hindus,
Buddhists, and Taoists than there are members
of Jesus' own faith, Judaism.
The challenge for our
time is to affirm religious truth without
defining it for others.

The Road Less Traveled
To take the road less traveled is to permit
the love and grace of God to work in the
lives and the hearts of humanity. To take the
road less traveled is to rise to love on the
Agape level; we love humanity not because we
like them, not because they look like us, not
because their attitudes and ways appeal to
us, but because God loves us.

Different Way
