A Prayer for Life's
Journey
Gracious God, sometimes I see my life as an unsolvable
puzzle. My days move along rapidly, but the people and
situations I encounter seem to make no sense. I consider
and weigh carefully the decisions I think I should make, but
find myself doing something completely opposite of what I
thought I had decided.

How do I pray?
Prayer starts in listening. Listening to yourself-the
stirrings of your mind, the aches and joys of your heart,
questions not answered, answers not working. And
listening to the world around you-loved ones, neighbors,
strangers, newspaper headlines.

The Universal Truths of Ram Dass
Having spent time with and learned from both Indian gurus
and Benedictine monks, Ram Dass might best be thought
of as a bridge connecting eastern and western thought,
identifying common principles or universal truths in each of
these great religious traditions. For the Christian, his
teachings can bring a better understanding of how to lead a
more Christ-centered life.

The Timeless Language of Teresa of Avila
I never expected a sixteenth century saint to enter my
twentieth century spiritual journey.
Yet it seemed that every time I turned around, there she
was again, with an unexpected word to expand my idea of
God or chart the next step of spiritual growth for me.

The Costly Faith of Dietrich Bonhoeffer
At a time when the majority of German Christians wished to
adjust the church's belief and practice to conform with the
Nazi revolution or focus exclusively on the ecclesiastical
realm, Bonhoeffer modeled a path of theologically-inspired
resistance that had clear political implications.
