Searching
I can tell you: Simply stay—whether
in God or close to God; and ask nothing more, unless God
prompts you.

Isn't searching for
the God within just an excuse for narcissism?
My search for God within is an effort to align myself with the
loving force of reality, which I believe can only occur at a
deeply personal level.

Living the Risen Life |
|
Why do you look for the living among the
dead? He is not here, but has risen.
—Luke
24: 1-10
Sometimes when we see with our eyes and touch with our
hands the fact of death or failure or lost dreams, that for us
is the end. But is that not a fitting time to draw upon our
belief? Or upon our desire to believe? Is it not in the valleys of life that we must
seek God and our hope in God?
Is the resurrection not powerful enough to enable us to
say, "Easter is about life in the midst of death, of new
possibilities in the midst of despair. We may be in the tomb,
but the resurrection is with us always."

Keeping Alert :
A Spiritual Practice for Easter
Taking time to reflect in your journal about your feelings
during the Easter season will help you keep alert to the
signs of resurrection and wholeness outside and
within.
Week 1: Forgiveness
We have all experienced disappointment, hurt and betrayal
in our lives. Sometimes those whom we most love, those
from whom we expect the most, those for whom we
ìspendî ourselves, are the very ones who bring us the
most pain.
Why is it hard for me to love and forgive without condition
when I have been hurt?
from Journaling
as a Spiritual Practice for Easter
Practicing Resurrection
When I think about the resurrection now, I don't only think
about what happened to Jesus. I think about what
happened to his disciples. They went into hiding after the
crucifixion, but after the resurrection appearances, they
walked back out into the world.
What if the resurrection is not about the appearances of
Jesus alone but also about what those appearances point
to, what they ask. And it is finally what we do with them that
matters; make them into superstitions or use them as
stepping stones to new life. We
have to practice resurrection.
