    Daily Thoughts for Lenten Reflection

    Waterfall
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

    Turning Things Around
    Road and Sky

Part of the Lenten draw, I believe, is this season's underlying message of renewal. This season is meant to remind Christians and anyone else who will listen, that it is never too late to start over again. It is never too late to turn things around.

This forty-day Lenten period is the Christian time designated for rethinking and reconsidering the road we've been on, and not being afraid to change directions. It's a time to take a look at the spiritual road we've been traveling, and entertain new possibilities for personal growth, a deeper relationship with God, better relationships with those we claim to care about, and more love for the least lovable among us, because they need it the most.

    Finding Your Gifts
Find your gifts and talents. Find those things that by temperament or training, you find that you like so much that you would do them for nothing. These sources of personal joy are as much if not more a part of your life to be strengthened and affirmed as any seeming spiritual shortcoming you seek to overcome. Don't forget, Gospel means Good News.

    Praying Keep Praying
The core of active faith is to trust even when weíre not sure, even when it seems impossible or improbable, even when the evidence doesnít support it. There will always be times when we are certain we are praying to a God who hears, and there will be times when we are sure we are only talking to ourselves, but active faith calls us simply to keep praying no matter what our doubts or our certainties are.
