What is meant by the
grace of God?
For us, the gift of life includes the wondrous gift of being
human, finding ourselves plopped down in the midst of the
larger gift of creation. That is the bedrock of graceócreation,
life, human being.

Dear God,
Use my hands to help others do what they cannot do by
themselves, and to create things that will make the world a

How Do You Experience the Holy? |
|
Take
our
new spiritual survey and find out which type you are
BELIEVERS experience the Holy through simple trust. They are open and receptive
to spiritual experiences and have an inner certainty that
God is present in those experiences. Even when it appears
that God is not acting overtly, they are confident in the
movement of Godís Spirit.
COMPANIONS experience the Holy through
relationships with others. They believe that
God is present in everyone and look for the spark of that
presence when they are with others. They look to others
to help them make sense of their own faith, and trust that
God will speak to them and lead them through the words,
actions, and holiness of other godly people.
LOVERS experience the Holy through emotions and inner reflection. They feel
deeply that no matter what they do or do not do, they are
held safely in the embrace of Godís love. They focus on
the generosity, mercy, and compassion of God and believe
that even when judgment or justice seems called for, Godís
response is one of tenderness.
MAVERICKS experience the Holy through
bold and ready action. They do not need to understand
their faith in order to act on it. They are not afraid to
stand out and apart from others in their relationship with
God.
SEEKERS experience the Holy through exploration and journey. They have a healthy
skepticism that makes it easy for them to explore different
opinions, understandings, and experiences of faith. They
do not feel the need to accept traditional faith patterns
in order to come to a lively trust in God.
THINKERS experience the Holy through
thinking, study, and discussion. They want to
clearly understand their faith and appreciate having logical
explanations for what they are asked to believe. They will
read and study, alone or with others, in order to better
grasp the truth of their faith.
