Deborah
Smith Douglas Ms. Douglas is a spiritual director, retreat leader, and author whose work has appeared in such publications as Commonweal, Spiritual Life, Weavings, and Christianity and the Arts. She is the author of the book The Praying Life: Seeking God in All Things; with her husband, she co-authored Pilgrims in the Kingdom: Travels in Christian Britain, which is both a travel book and a series of spiritual reflections on places associated with people important to the history of Christianity in England, Scotland, and Wales. Deborah received her BA in English Literature from Duke University and a JD (juris doctor) from the Law School at the University of Kansas. She was raised as a Presbyterian and is now an Episcopal laywoman, married and the mother of two college-age daughters. She and her husband David, along with their partner David Hill, founded the Collected Works Bookshop in 1978. |
